Hotel Matilda Hosting ‘Anti-Graffiti’ Charity Supper Club with Artist & Chef Performances
Hotel Matilda will splash an anti-graffiti statement on its walls at a charity Supper Club on February 25, 2016 that will feature an artistic intervention by a rising-star Mexican artist, cuisine by Mexico’s most famous chef, a dessert experience by an acclaimed Mexican pastry artist and benefit an organization dedicated to maintaining the historic beauty of San Miguel de Allende.
The Anti-Graffiti Supper Club will be a gourmet extravaganza, as the hotel’s Supper Clubs typically are, with Enrique Olvera creating an original, multi-course menu for the epicurean evening served in Hotel Matilda’s Moxi restaurant. Olvera is Mexico’s most celebrated chef who operates Moxi.
Artist Claudio Limón, from the state of Jalisco, will conduct the intervention by using spaces inside Hotel Matilda as his canvas. His dazzling creations will remain in place at the hotel for two months.
Capping off the dinner will be a performance-art dessert experience by Fernanda Prado, director of the Espaisucre Pastry School in Mexico City. She will create her artsy desserts in the lobby area adjacent to Moxi, putting on a colorful culinary show for the guests – culminating in everyone enjoying a serving of her delicious art.
“Our high-profile Supper Clubs are exciting gourmet experiences, but this time, it will also be a charity event benefitting charming and historic San Miguel de Allende,” said Bruce James, Director of Hotel Matilda. “San Miguel Siempre Hermoso is an invaluable asset that works tirelessly to keep our magical colonial town looking its best year round – to the delight of everyone who lives here and the thousands of annual visitors.”
San Miguel Siempre Hermoso is a public-private partnership in San Miguel de Allende formed in 2003 to protect the heritage of the colonial jewel through the removal of graffiti tags and the maintenance of the town’s more than 35 public fountains. A portion of the revenue from the Supper Club at Hotel Matilda will be donated to San Miguel Siempre Hermoso.
The Anti-Graffiti Supper Club starts at 8:00 p.m. on February 25, 2016. The cost is 1,500 pesos, or about $81, not including service. For reservations: email@example.com
